About Planetary Health

Planetary health is a concept that explores the mechanisms by which the Earth’s environment and human health interact.

While much attention is focused on the effects of human activities on the Earth’s environment, it is important to elucidate the impact of Earth’s environmental changes on our health and to recapture the role that the healthcare sector in particular should play.

For example, the role of the healthcare sector should be examined in light of the impact of climate change, environmental pollution, and loss of biodiversity on human health.

HGPI will make recommendations on measures that the healthcare sector can take to address global challenges to achieve health, well-being, and equity.
